Today brought no new treatments, only studies that spot patterns worth watching

  One review pooled earlier studies on weight loss surgery for people with obesity and advanced kidney disease hoping for a transplant, but only the raw data file came in, so the size of any benefit is not shown here.

  A study asked whether low levels of the active form of vitamin D go along with a poor response to anemia drugs in people not yet on dialysis, which is worth raising with your kidney doctor if your anemia is hard to treat.
• Paper C Mind-body
  Two separate studies tied long-term stress and hard life experiences to heart, kidney, and blood sugar problems that travel together, though people who are already sick can have both.

The strongest item today is a data file behind a review, and almost everything else is observational, meaning researchers watched what happened rather than testing a treatment. Much of the day sat outside stage 3 kidney disease too, covering transplant recipients, children, pregnancy, and blood cancer. Two randomized trials did come in, on meditation and on probiotics, but neither included people with kidney disease. Days like this one build background understanding rather than changing what anyone does tomorrow.
