Today's report described a single case of malakoplakia in the throat and voice box of a man with both diabetes and advanced kidney disease. The condition was mistaken for cancer but turned out to be benign inflammation. No new treatments, prevention strategies, or outcomes related to kidney disease were studied in this report.
